How to upgrade your NOD32 to Version 4

There is a new Eset NOD32 Antivirus and Smart Security program available for all NOD32 users who have a computer running Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7. If you are still using the old NOD32 versions 2.7 or 3.0, we recommend upgrading to the new Version 4. Upgrading is quite easy and costs nothing if you have a current valid NOD32 license. Follow the instructions below to upgrade your NOD32 Antivirus now.

Please note: This page is best veiwed in Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or Microsoft Explorer 7 or above. If you are running Explorer 6 we recommend upgrading to the latest version.  Go to www.microsoft.com/ie to upgrade.

Step 1: How to find out what version NOD32 you are currently running

There are two ways you can find out what version of NOD32 Antivirus or Smart Security you are running.

You can hover over the Eset NOD32 Icon in the system tray

A window will pop up showing what version you are runing. If the number begins with 2.7 you are running version 2.7, if it begins with 3.0 then you are running version 3. If a window does not pop up, double click on the icon to open the Control Centre. The version number will be in the heading.

The system tray is located to the bottom right of your screen, next to the clock. In Windows 7, if you cannot see the icon click on the up arrow in the system tray (when you hover over it, it will show a window with "Show hidden icons".

If you cannot find the Icon in the system tray, you can open the Control Centre for NOD32 from the Start Menu

Open the Start Menu. In the Programs list, find either ESET or NOD32. Once open, the Control Centre will have a number in the heading. This is your version number.

Please Note: For Smart Security users, there is only version 3.0 and version 4.  Follow the instructions below as per version 3.0 to upgrade.

Step 2: Finding your username and password

Your username and password were sent to you via email when you first purchased your Eset license. Your username generally starts with AV- or EAV- , and your password will be a random series of lowercase letters and numbers.

You can either find the original email, or get the username and password from the Control Centre. You will need to copy (highlight and Control + C) and paste (Control + V) these to download the new software. You can enter it manually, but be careful to enter them exactly - it will not allow you download if it isn't exactly the same.
